CellCo Door-to-Door Shipping Instructions
Thank you for choosing CellCo for your shipping needs. To ensure a smooth and efficient shipping experience, please follow these guidelines carefully:
1. Contents of Shipping Boxes
Customs Inspection:
The contents of all boxes are subject to inspection by customs officers.Commercial Contents:
Avoid shipping large quantities of the same product. These may be classified as “COMMERCIAL,” potentially leading to high customs charges or seizure due to restrictions from exclusive distributors in Sri Lanka.Personal/Household Use Only:
Ship only a few items of the same product intended for personal or household use.
Prohibited Items:
The following items are prohibited from being imported into Sri Lanka as personal effects and will be confiscated by customs authorities:
- Alcoholic beverages
- Tobacco products, including cigarettes Firearms, ammunition, and related components
- Controlled substances, including drugs
- Gold in any form
- Precious stones, such as gems
- Liquids of any kind
- Lithium batteries
- Electronic devices containing lithium batteries
These restrictions are enforced under Sri Lankan customs regulations.
2. Declaration of Electrical Appliances
- Customs Charges:
Declare large electrical appliances such as fridge freezers, washing machines, Tvs and Air conditioners to avoid penalties for “non-declared” items, in addition to the standard customs fees.
3. Packaging Requirements
Packing in Our Boxes:
Order durable packaging materials through our partner, Shift Pack, and have them delivered directly to your door.

- Use triple-wall, sturdy boxes to ensure durability during transit.
- Ensure boxes are properly shaped, not overfilled, or bulging to allow for easy handling and storage.
Weight Limit:
Each box must weigh between 35–40 kg maximum, regardless of size.
Distribute the weight evenly across all boxes to prevent damage.Multi-Story Homes:
If you live in a two-story home, pack boxes on the ground floor to facilitate smoother collection.
4. Sealing and Labelling
Sealing:
Use brown tape to seal all edges and corners securely to protect boxes during transit.Labelling:
Write the receiver’s delivery address and contact number clearly on each box using a permanent marker.Contents List:
Include a detailed list of contents inside each box to avoid disputes or delays during customs checks.
5. Arranging Collection/Drop-Off
Contact Us:
When ready, call us to schedule a collection or arrange for a drop-off at our location.
6. On Collection/Drop-Off
Valid ID Required:
- Sender: A valid ID (e.g., BRP Card, Driving Licence, or Passport) is required for Sri Lanka Customs.
- Recipient: A valid ID (e.g., NIC, Driving Licence, Passport, or Forces ID) is required before delivery in Sri Lanka.
Weight Verification:
Each box will be weighed during collection or drop-off to ensure the same weight is delivered in Sri Lanka.Shipping Reference:
An invoice with a shipping number will be provided. Please keep this number for tracking and future inquiries.
